Suolahuone.fi came online in August of 2005 and is currently the most comprehensive and popular resource for information on salt room therapy and its providers in Finland. These pages will be further developed based on visitor feedback, in order to better serve the interests of both therapy providers and end users. We initially became acquainted with salt room therapy in the late 1980s in St. Petersburg, Russia. The first salt room I saw was very simple, but the results were already promising. In Finland, we built our first salt rooms in October of 2003 for Hopeaniemi Spa and Spa Lappeenranta. Subsequently, we have established production of salt rooms in Lohja, situated approximately 60 kilometers west of Helsinki. Information about salt rooms we have built can be found here.

During the past couple of years, we have continually been developing the structure and mechanics of the salt room to attain better treatment results. We have been developing salt room to improve customer friendliness and user friendliness. The most significant progress has been attained in the last year, relating to both the salt room and the treatment process itself. This is all in line with our objective of providing a reliable and effective form of treatment for respiratory disorders and skin diseases.

As a builder of salt rooms, we are also partly responsible for the welfare of end users. It is thus necessary to caution that salt room therapy is a health care procedure, requiring treatment staff to have appropriate medical training and experience. In cases of severe ailments, it is essential first to consult with a medical expert before undergoing any treatment procedures.
